I’m often asked what it’s like for specific type-pairings to be in a relationship? I believe that any type can have a successful partnership as long as they are healthy in their type. That doesn’t mean there won’t be challenges along the way, but when you’re self-aware and understand how your partner sees the world, it allows for more grace and compassion towards each other.
Today, Lee and Laura Camp join me in a discussion of how the Enneagram helped them get into a healthy space and allowed them to heal their relationship as an Enneagram 1 and Enneagram 8.
Lee C. Camp is a professor of theology and ethics at Lipscomb University. He was awarded a permanent designation as a University “Outstanding Teacher” in 2017. He completed his undergrad studies at Lipscomb and graduate studies at Abilene Christian University and University of Notre Dame (M.A. and Ph.D., both in Moral Theology/Christian Ethics). He has published Mere Discipleship: Radical Christianity in a Rebellious World (Brazos Press, 2003; 2nd ed. 2008), Who is My Enemy: Questions American Christians Must Face About Islam, and Themselves (Brazos Press, 2011), and Scandalous Witness: A Little Political Manifesto for Christians (Eerdmans, 2020), plus numerous articles. Camp is also the host and creator of Tokens Show, a live event “theological variety show.”
Laura Camp is COO at Siloam Health in Nashville. She’s a Nashville native, did her undergrad studies in Finance & Economics at Lipscomb University, and her MBA at Abilene Christian University. In addition, she and Lee have lived in Nairobi, Kenya, South Bend, Indiana, and now back in Nashville for 20 years. Laura is the mother of three (relatively) grown sons, and enjoys painting, reading, loving on her family, and watching Netflix BBC murder-mystery series with Lee.
